In recent years, "expansion" has become an unavoidable keyword for Beijing's commercial sector. From newly opened commercial complexes to revamped traditional shopping centers, Beijing's commercial landscape is entering a new development cycle with a multi-center, networked, and differentiated layout.

Once dominated by a strong central core and weaker peripheries, Beijing's commercial distribution has now undergone a transformation. During the recent peak season of September and October, multiple commercial projects opened across the city—some in Changping, others in Haidian, Daxing, and even as far as Fangshan. This reflects the gradual maturation of Beijing's multi-center commercial structure.

In the first three quarters of 2025, the city saw over 1 million square meters of new large-scale commercial facilities open, including Changping’s Super Hopson Place West, Haidian’s Zhongguancun ART PARK Grand Mall, JD MALL, and Xicheng District’s China Overseas Daji Lane. These projects signify Beijing’s shift from a single-core commercial model to a multi-center approach, extending coverage beyond the central urban districts to the entire metropolitan area.

Beyond meeting local consumer demand, these commercial hubs also boast viral appeal, demonstrating exceptional foot-traffic attraction.
