Standard Chartered PLC (STANCHART) reported that it bought back 720,000 ordinary shares on 3 June 2026 across the London Stock Exchange, CBOE BXE and CBOE CXE trading venues. The purchases were executed within a price range of GBP 20.16–20.72 per share, for a total consideration of GBP 14.73 million—equivalent to an average price of approximately GBP 20.45 per share.
The repurchased shares represent about 0.03% of STANCHART’s issued share capital of 2.20 billion shares (excluding treasury shares) as of the previous trading day. All 720,000 shares will be cancelled, keeping the company’s treasury share balance at zero.
Including this latest transaction, STANCHART has acquired 13.82 million shares since shareholders approved a buyback authority on 7 May 2026, equal to 0.62% of the shares outstanding at the time of the resolution. The current mandate permits the repurchase of up to 221.63 million shares and remains valid until the 2027 annual general meeting or 6 August 2027, whichever is earlier.
Following the 3 June transactions, the company’s issued share count stood unchanged at 2.20 billion, as the shares bought back on 1–3 June (totalling 2.20 million) had not yet been cancelled by the reporting date.
