Lai Sun Development (Stock Code: 488) Renews Financial Assistance Framework Agreement

Lai Sun Development Company Limited (Stock Code: 488) announced the renewal of its Financial Assistance Framework Agreement with Lai Fung Holdings Limited (“LF”). The new term, commencing on 1 January 2026 and ending on 31 December 2028, involves continuing connected transactions whereby Lai Sun Development (“LSD”) may provide unsecured bilateral loans to LF.

According to the announcement, LSD will propose annual caps of up to HK$1.5 billion for each financial year ending 31 July 2026, 2027, 2028, and 2029 to accommodate LF’s potential funding requirements. Any actual loan advance will be subject to LSD’s availability of sufficient funds and must carry an effective interest rate benchmarked to prevailing market rates offered by major banks in Hong Kong.

LSD believes the arrangement will optimize its excess cash resources while generating interest income, and also help LF meet financing and operational needs in the coming years. The renewal and associated transaction terms are subject to independent shareholders’ approval at the general meeting, which is scheduled for 19 December 2025 in Hong Kong.
