Ping An Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. has recently entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with Yiliao Information Zhiding (Xiamen) Technology Co., Ltd.

This partnership leverages the extensive medical data from the Fujian Provincial Medical, Healthcare, and Pharmaceutical Platform, known as the "Three-Medical Platform," to jointly develop a disease risk prediction engine utilizing advanced AI models.

Building on this technological foundation, Ping An Technology has collaborated with Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance to introduce an inclusive insurance product specifically designed for chronic diseases, aiming to establish a new multi-layered ecosystem for chronic illness protection.

The burden and protection pressures are significant for individuals with chronic conditions.

China has a vast population, with approximately 400 million people affected by common chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, and over 300 million individuals with "pre-chronic" conditions like pulmonary nodules and thyroid nodules.

These groups face a higher risk of developing severe illnesses in the future, and many require long-term medication, leading to substantial protection challenges.

In response, Ping An Technology and Ping An P&C have launched the online "Chronic Disease Million Medical (Inclusive Edition)" product.

Compared to standard medical insurance, this product covers a broader range of individuals with chronic and "pre-chronic" conditions, generally including pre-existing conditions for coverage and claims, and extends eligibility to chronic disease patients up to 80 years old.

Beyond conventional medical coverage, the product innovatively offers a 50% discount on chronic disease medication purchases, covering 769 types of common chronic disease drugs, including original research drugs, to alleviate the financial burden of long-term medication for patients.

Additionally, for specific groups such as those with pulmonary nodules, the product provides a critical illness insurance benefit of up to 100,000 yuan based on disease progression, comprehensively addressing protection gaps and strengthening the medical safety net for families.

Leveraging medical big data and AI models to address challenges in insurance product design and risk control.

Creating specialized insurance products for chronic disease populations is complex due to two main difficulties: firstly, predicting disease progression risks for accurate product design and pricing is challenging; secondly, the user application process often requires submitting extensive disease-related information, making it cumbersome and underwriting complex.

To tackle these challenges, Ping An Technology has partnered with Yiliao Information, utilizing the medical big data from Fujian's Three-Medical Platform.

Through AI models, they have developed an AI disease prediction engine and an intelligent underwriting assistant product, achieving breakthroughs in precise risk pricing and streamlined, one-click application processes.

In AI disease prediction, the product employs AI to deeply analyze heterogeneous diagnostic and examination data, extracting thousands of dimensional factors to dynamically assess the probability of complications and critical illness occurrence, providing a precise basis for risk pricing of individuals with pre-existing conditions.

In the realm of the intelligent underwriting assistant, based on multimodal large models, customers can simply upload an image of their examination report, and the AI automatically completes risk assessment and underwriting decisions, reducing繁琐 procedures and optimizing the application experience.

Deepening AI applications to jointly build a new ecosystem for healthcare and insurance collaboration.

Moving forward, Ping An Technology will continue to explore two key areas based on the Fujian Three-Medical Platform: expanding the product portfolio and deepening AI technological innovation.

This includes launching products like cancer recurrence insurance and specialized nodule disease insurance to further broaden coverage, and utilizing offerings such as AI insurance advisors and AI-MDT (Multidisciplinary Intelligent Consultation) to enhance service quality and technological barriers.

As the healthcare protection system evolves towards greater refinement, the integration of healthcare and insurance has emerged as a new trend.

The partners intend to use Fujian as a model to explore innovative modes of healthcare-insurance synergy.

They plan to gradually promote the compliant application model of innovative medical data and AI technological achievements nationwide, contributing robust technological strength to the development of China's multi-layered healthcare protection system.
