PLANETREE INT'L (00613) Announces Positive Profit Alert for FY2025

Planetree International Development Limited reports an expected profit before tax of approximately 30.00 million Hong Kong dollars for the year ended 31 December 2025, compared to a loss before tax of around 212.00 million Hong Kong dollars in the prior year. According to preliminary unaudited consolidated management accounts, the main factors for this turnaround include a net unrealized gain of about 150.00 million Hong Kong dollars on financial assets at fair value through profit or loss, a reversal of impairment loss on margin loan receivables of roughly 37.00 million Hong Kong dollars, and a share of profit from associates of around 48.00 million Hong Kong dollars. The company also expects to record a net realized loss of approximately 81.00 million Hong Kong dollars on disposal of financial assets at fair value through profit or loss, together with a net fair value loss on investment properties of around 94.00 million Hong Kong dollars.

Management further indicates that other comprehensive income of about 54.00 million Hong Kong dollars is expected for FY2025, in contrast to an other comprehensive expense of roughly 97.00 million Hong Kong dollars in FY2024. Final results for FY2025 are pending confirmation and review by external auditors and the audit committee, with an official announcement anticipated in late March 2026.
