Directel’s 2025 ESG Report Highlights 19% Drop in GHG Intensity, New 2030 Targets and Stable Workforce Metrics

Directel Holdings Limited released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report, detailing measurable progress in carbon reduction, resource efficiency and workforce management across operations in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Singapore for the year ended 31 December 2025.

Environmental Performance • Total greenhouse-gas emissions fell to 15.45 tCO₂e, down 19.5% from 19.18 tCO₂e in 2024. GHG intensity improved to 0.97 tCO₂e per headcount from 1.07 tCO₂e. • Scope 2 electricity-related emissions (the largest contributor) dropped to 8.54 tCO₂e, while Scope 1 petrol-related emissions declined to 6.91 tCO₂e. • Electricity usage reached 12,965 kWh, translating to 810 kWh per employee, versus 13,209 kWh and 734 kWh per employee a year earlier. • Petrol consumption totalled 25,159 kWh, equal to 1,572 kWh per employee, marginally below 2024’s 25,713 kWh. • The group met its 2023-to-2025 goal of cutting total GHG intensity by 5% and has set a new target to reduce 2025-baseline GHG intensity a further 10% by 2030.

Waste and Resources • Non-hazardous office waste is primarily paper; 20,300 sheets (40.6 reams) were used in 2025. • Packaging material for SIM cards amounted to 109 kg of paper and 16 kg of plastic. • No hazardous waste was generated.

Social Indicators • Total headcount stood at 16 (50% female, 50% male) across three jurisdictions. • Turnover rate was 13%, with two departures during the year. • All employees completed training, averaging 5.3 hours each; management averaged 14.0 hours. • No work-related fatalities or injuries were recorded in the past three years.

Governance and Compliance • The board directly oversees ESG strategy, meeting at least twice yearly to review progress. • No material non-compliance was noted with environmental, labour, health-and-safety or anti-corruption regulations; zero corruption cases were recorded. • The supply chain comprised 18 active suppliers—nine in Mainland China, eight in Hong Kong and one in Singapore—subject to qualification, site visits and ESG criteria.

Forward Commitments • Energy-consumption intensity in electricity and petrol to be reduced by 5% from the 2025 baseline by 2030. • Continued annual climate-risk assessments and enhanced board-level climate training are planned.

Directel underscores its intention to maintain its current low-carbon trajectory while expanding connectivity solutions, including OTA-SIM technology and international roaming services, in alignment with Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan 2030+.
