On the news front, on July 27, HUANXI MEDIA announced that Dong Ping resigned from his position as executive director due to personal arrangements, effective July 27. He also stepped down as chairman and director of all subsidiary companies on the same day, but continues to serve as chairman of the group's director and artistic guidance committee, providing guidance for the group's film and television production from time to time.
The company appointed 47-year-old Hu Hui as executive director. Hu Hui is the producer of the company's recent blockbuster films "The Stage" and "Sauce Alley." She has served as general manager of Beijing Huanxi Premiere Culture, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the group, since 2014. She is familiar with group operations and has been producer of multiple films, including "The Stage," "Sauce Alley," and "Full River Red."
Notably, HUANXI MEDIA's main production "Sauce Alley" features top-tier stars including Zhang Ziyi, Lei Jiayin, Yang Mi, and Zhao Liying, and was released on June 21 this year. According to Maoyan Professional Edition, as of press time, "Sauce Alley" has accumulated a box office of 375 million yuan. The film currently has a Douban rating of only 5.7.
Additionally, the company's other main production "The Stage" was officially released on July 25, with a current total box office of 389 million yuan.
