China Financial Services Holdings Limited (C FIN SERVICES, 00605) reported a sharp turnaround for the six months ended 30 June 2026, shifting from a HK$29.60 million loss a year earlier to a HK$125.76 million profit attributable to shareholders. Basic earnings per share rebounded to HK$0.62 from a loss of HK$0.15.

Revenue performance • Core interest and financing consultancy income edged up 4.7% year on year to HK$41.44 million. • First-time consolidation of U.K.-based education subsidiary KGH Holdings added HK$20.90 million, lifting total interim revenue to HK$62.34 million (1H25: HK$39.60 million).

Cost and exceptional items • Interest and handling expenses fell 50.9% to HK$11.73 million, reflecting lower borrowings. • General and administrative expenses jumped 139.3% to HK$83.46 million, driven by a HK$29.94 million service fee to Zhongjin Jiasheng for settling legacy “Incidents”-related liabilities and HK$16.58 million of payroll and overheads following the KGH acquisition. • One-off gains of HK$115.88 million from the reversal of loan and interest payables plus HK$16.86 million from extinguished guarantee liabilities linked to previously unauthorised loans were the main contributors to the profit swing. • A HK$41.90 million recovery of previously written-off receivables further boosted other gains.

Balance-sheet highlights (30 June 2026) • Net assets rose to HK$990.94 million (31 Dec 2025: HK$834.55 million). • Net loan receivables increased 7.3% to HK$981.68 million; 90.2% are property-backed. • Cash and cash equivalents stood at HK$213.18 million. • Borrowings and loan payables contracted 24.4% to HK$430.49 million, all due within 12 months. • Current ratio improved to 1.70; gearing ratio reduced to 0.22.

Segmental mix Geographically, financing income distribution remained diversified: Beijing 26.4%, Chengdu & Chongqing 30.5%, Shenzhen 17.1% and Hong Kong 26.0%. Education services, recorded under the newly formed segment, contributed 33.5% of total revenue.

Post-period development Thetford Grammar School, KGH’s main operating unit, will cease operations after the 2025/26 academic year, reflecting adverse U.K. policy and cost pressures. No financial adjustments related to the closure appear in the interim accounts.

Capital and dividend No interim dividend was declared. The company reported no major capital commitments or contingent liabilities and maintained an unencumbered asset base.

Outlook Management signalled continued focus on disciplined risk controls, active settlement of remaining legacy liabilities (HK$199.29 million outstanding), and strategic re-allocation toward consumer finance opportunities amid cautious credit demand in Mainland China and Hong Kong.
