根据道琼斯市场数据，这份以科技股为主的指数在过去四个国情咨文后的交易日均出现至少1.1%的波动。周三交易日中，继特朗普总统周二晚间发表国情咨文后，纳斯达克指数涨幅约达1.3%。
回溯此前四年的演讲后表现，该指数两度上涨两度下跌。尽管过去十年中有六个交易日在国情咨文后收涨，但纳斯达克指数在这十年间的演讲后平均跌幅约为0.1%。
