Following the closure of three AEON supermarkets in locations like Xiqing and Zhongbei, the last remaining AEON outlet in Tianjin—the Meijiang store—is also set to withdraw. On April 27, Tianjin Meijiang Impression City announced via its official social media account that the Meijiang AEON supermarket will officially terminate operations at 14:00 on May 8, 2026, after business hours. Customers holding AEON gift cards may process refunds at the service counter inside the supermarket. For inquiries related to the store closure and after-sales services, contact the following numbers: Before May 8: 022-58710688-600; After May 8: 400-1628-766.

According to the latest announcement from Meijiang Impression City, the supermarket is poised for renewal and upgrades, with a "new neighbor" ready to take its place. In related news, on April 30, Wumart Supermarket will simultaneously open new stores at the former AEON locations in TEDA, Jinnan, and Xiqing. These outlets will feature AI-powered retail models, offering Tianjin residents a novel shopping experience.

Additionally, on April 29, Wumart will inaugurate its Jinhai'an forward warehouse in Binhai New Area. This marks Wumart's first forward warehouse in Tianjin, covering core residential zones in Binhai New Area. Residents can place orders via the DMALL app and receive their goods in as fast as 30 minutes. This development signifies a new phase in Wumart's strategy to build an omnichannel, high-quality retail network in Tianjin.
