On the evening of March 9, CATL released its annual report for 2025, revealing that the company achieved approximately 423.7 billion yuan in operating revenue, representing a 17% year-on-year increase. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company reached about 72.2 billion yuan, up 42% compared to the previous year. The net cash flow generated from operating activities for the full year amounted to 133.2 billion yuan. At the end of the reporting period, the combined total of monetary funds and tradable financial assets stood at 392.5 billion yuan. Annual research and development expenditure reached 22.1 billion yuan.
In terms of business performance, CATL sold 661 GWh of lithium batteries in 2025, a 39% increase from the prior year. According to data from SNE Research, the company's global market share in power battery usage rose by 1.2 percentage points to 39.2% in 2025, maintaining its top position for the ninth consecutive year. Its overseas market share climbed to 30%.
Rapidly growing energy storage operations emerged as a significant highlight in CATL's performance. SNE Research statistics indicate that the company captured a 30.4% market share in energy storage battery shipments in 2025, securing the global lead for the fifth year in a row. Its battery systems have been deployed in approximately 2,300 projects worldwide.
Notably, CATL's proposed profit distribution plan for 2025 includes a cash dividend of 69.57 yuan per 10 shares (before tax). This marks the third consecutive year the company has distributed cash dividends equivalent to 50% of net profit attributable to parent company shareholders. Cumulative dividends are expected to approach 100 billion yuan following this year's payout.
CATL indicated that it will focus future efforts on aviation and low-altitude sectors, as well as global expansion. Specifically, the company has developed power batteries for cargo aircraft in collaboration with its affiliate, Fengfei Aviation. These batteries have passed manufacturing compliance reviews by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, and CATL has obtained AS9100D aviation quality system certification.
Globally, by the end of 2025, CATL had established a production capacity of 772 GWh, with an additional 321 GWh under construction. Projects such as the Hungary factory and the Indonesian battery supply chain are progressing steadily.
