Shanghai Fudan-Zhangjiang Bio-Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (FUDANZHANGJIANG) announced that the first patient has been enrolled in the Phase I clinical trial of FZ-P001 Sodium for Injection, an innovative photosensitizer intended for intraoperative visualization of malignant lesions during ovarian cancer surgery.

FZ-P001 is a class 1 new molecular entity designed as a folate receptor-targeted small-molecule conjugate linked to a cyanine-based photosensitizer. By binding to tumor tissues overexpressing folate receptor alpha (FRα), the drug enables near-infrared fluorescence imaging aimed at improving the detection of residual tumor tissue and surgical margins.

The Phase I study, approved in August 2025, focuses on assessing safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic characteristics in human subjects. The company plans to leverage the drug’s molecular-targeting specificity and multidimensional biological sensing to enhance precision navigation in tumor surgeries.

Management reiterated that pharmaceutical R&D involves high technology, extended timelines, and significant risk, and advised investors to remain cautious. Further updates will be disclosed in accordance with regulatory requirements.
