On October 6, the construction bidding results for the first batch of the G217 Shache to Tashkurgan County Highway Construction Project were announced. This follows the second batch results published on October 2, marking the latest progress in this major highway construction project. With all winning candidates for 13 sections across both batches now determined, this major highway project with a total contract value exceeding 11 billion yuan is set to enter the substantial construction phase.

**Project Overview**

The highway is located in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The route begins near the intersection of Shache County Airport Expressway and X504, running along both sides of the Yarkant River and Tashkurgan River. It passes through Kaqun Township, Hoshrap Township, and the Altash Water Conservancy Hub, ultimately connecting to the G314 line in Tashkurgan County.

The total route length is 223.933 kilometers, including 215.031 kilometers of new construction and reconstruction, and 8.860 kilometers utilizing existing roads.

**Technical Standards**

The entire route adopts Class II highway design standards, divided into two sections: - K20+050 to K68+480 section: Design speed of 80 km/h, roadbed width of 12 meters - K77+340 to K244+989.300 section: Design speed of 60 km/h, roadbed width of 10 meters

**Engineering Scope**

The project includes 117 bridges totaling 19,953.18 meters in length, comprising 2 extra-large bridges, 59 large bridges, 45 medium bridges, and 11 small bridges. There are 27 tunnels with a total length of 45,411.4 meters, including 2 extra-long tunnels, 15 long tunnels, 5 medium tunnels, and 5 short tunnels. Additional infrastructure includes 455 culverts, 1 grade-separated intersection, 56 at-grade intersections, 3 service areas, 2 maintenance stations, and 7 parking areas.
