该公司表示，预计将利用出售比特币所得资金，为其优先股的股息支付提供资金。根据当前价格计算，Strategy整体仍持有843,706枚比特币，价值超过600亿美元。塞勒曾表示，公司计划策略性地出售比特币，以履行其优先股的股息支付义务。
比特币价格在去年10月触及超过126,000美元的高点后已大幅下挫，这加剧了市场担忧：该公司任何潜在的比特币抛售都可能进一步加剧比特币的下行卖压。周一早间，比特币下跌2.7%，至约71,846美元。这种加密货币的交易一直陷于区间震荡，年内跌幅已近18%，而科技股则屡创新高。
