预计将迎来寒冷的12月，导致天然气期货价格升至三年来的最高点。
1月交割的期货合约今天价格首次突破每百万英热单位5美元，自2022年12月以来一直未见如此高位，此前因俄罗斯入侵乌克兰而使供暖和发电用燃料的价格飙升。
与一年前相比，期货价格上涨超过60%，这意味着大约6100万美国家庭在今冬的天然气账单将大幅增加，而5700万家庭则依赖电力取暖，而电力中很大一部分是通过燃烧天然气产生的。
如果这一涨幅持续，2025年将成为20年来天然气价格最大的年度增长年。2005年价格上涨约83%。
分析师和交易员表示，考虑到液化天然气终端的出口量不断增加，以及目前接近五年平均水平的国内库存将在未来几周内减少，价格可能会进一步上涨，因为美国人即将开启暖气和锅炉。
交易公司EBW Analytics在向客户的报告中指出：“预计2010年以来最寒冷的12月可能会使储存量在圣诞节前出现亏缺。”
