Alipay has announced a new collaboration with OPPO to enable cross-device interconnection for their respective AI assistants.

Starting today, users can have the assistants "A Bao" and "Xiao Bu" work together to handle tasks. For the initial phase, A Bao has integrated nearly 200 lifestyle services, allowing users to manage activities like booking movie tickets, ordering food, arranging travel, and handling social security, housing fund, and pension matters with simple voice commands.

This partnership builds upon the AHA (Agent Hub Access) protocol co-developed by the two companies. The protocol, which focuses on local, on-device data isolation and domain-specific control, ensures a secure collaboration between A Bao and Xiao Bu. The AHA solution was first introduced at the OPPO Developer Conference in October 2025, with the goal of facilitating efficient coordination between OPPO's system-level AI and Alipay's intelligent agent.

Beyond OPPO, Alipay's A Bao is also working on establishing partnerships with manufacturers of in-car systems, wearables, and smart glasses.

For OPPO users, the functionality eliminates the need to open the Alipay app. Users simply state their request to the Xiao Bu assistant. A Bao will then intelligently match the required service and handle the preliminary steps. Users only need to manually confirm authorization or payment after verifying the information. For certain services, A Bao can even execute tasks silently in the background and notify the user upon completion.

Regarding security, the system is designed with clear boundaries. Xiao Bu is only responsible for "understanding" user commands and does not have access to Alipay account information or financial data. A Bao is solely focused on "getting things done for you" and does not operate the phone or other third-party applications. Critical steps such as payments and authorizations require manual confirmation by the user, ensuring full control throughout the process. Every transaction is further safeguarded by Alipay's multi-dimensional risk control system.

To use this feature, users need to update their system to ColorOS 16, upgrade the Xiao Bu assistant to version 12.8.4 or higher, and ensure Alipay is on version 12.12.1 or above.

Alipay indicated that more features will be rolled out gradually for user experience and expressed hopes of expanding this collaboration to more smartphone brands in the future.
