Prudential plc trims share count through latest buybacks and cancellations

Prudential plc announced that it cancelled 540,301 ordinary shares on Jul, 30 2026, covering shares repurchased on Jul, 27 and Jul, 28 2026, at volume-weighted average prices of GBP 11.083 and GBP 10.7819 respectively. The cancellations cut the company’s issued share capital by about 0.022 per cent to 2,504,439,550 shares.

The disclosure also shows that an additional 544,011 shares bought back on Jul, 29 and Jul, 30 2026, remain pending cancellation. On Jul, 30 2026, Prudential repurchased 270,718 shares on the London Stock Exchange at prices ranging from GBP 10.805 to GBP 11.37, spending a total of GBP 3.04 million.

The transactions form part of a share repurchase mandate approved on May, 14 2025, which permits the company to buy back up to 262.67 million shares. To date, 108.28 million shares—about 4.16 per cent of the company’s issued share base at the time of the mandate—have been repurchased.

Under listing rules, Prudential is subject to a moratorium on issuing new shares or selling treasury shares until Aug, 29 2026.
