The United States relaxed its export controls against the United Arab Emirates on Friday, elevating the Gulf Arab ally to one of its most trusted partners in defense and technology.

In light of the UAE's role as a key U.S. defense partner and its support for American national security interests, including matters related to countering Iran, the Bureau of Industry and Security under the U.S. Department of Commerce announced a substantial upgrade to the UAE's status under the Export Administration Regulations.

Following this adjustment, approved entities in the UAE can now directly access advanced 人工智能 chips, 人工智能 servers, military and dual-use technologies, commercial satellites, drones, as well as technologies related to the oil and gas and civil nuclear energy sectors without needing to undergo the U.S. export license approval process.
