HUTCHMED (00013) shares jumped nearly 9% in intraday trading, currently up 5.78% to HK$20.30 with a turnover of HK$91.75 million.

The company announced positive topline results from the SAFFRON Phase III study evaluating the combination of 沃瑞沙 (savolitinib) and 泰瑞沙 (osimertinib) versus platinum-based doublet chemotherapy in patients with EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The study met its primary endpoints, showing statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements in both progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) for patients whose tumors exhibited high levels of MET overexpression or amplification and who had progressed on prior 泰瑞沙 treatment.

The safety profile of the 沃瑞沙 and 泰瑞沙 combination was consistent with the known safety profiles of each individual drug, with no new safety signals identified. Full data will be presented at an upcoming medical conference and shared with global regulatory authorities.

Based on the SACHI Phase III study, this combination therapy is already approved in China for treating patients with locally advanced or metastatic EGFR-mutant NSCLC with MET amplification who have progressed on EGFR TKI therapy. 沃瑞沙 is jointly developed by AstraZeneca and HUTCHMED, with AstraZeneca handling commercialization.
