ABC: Wang Peishi Approved as Independent Director, Margaret Leung Steps Down Due to Term Expiry

On October 28, ABC announced that it received the "Approval from the National Financial Regulatory Administration on Wang Peishi's Qualification as Independent Director of ABC" (Document No. Jin Fu [2025] 605). According to relevant regulations and the board resolution, Ms. Wang Peishi's appointment as an independent director of the bank, as well as her roles as a member of the Board Audit Committee, the Risk Management and Consumer Rights Protection Committee (including the U.S. Regional Institutions Risk Committee), and the Connected Transactions Control Committee, have taken effect.

Additionally, Ms. Margaret Leung has stepped down as an independent director of the bank due to the expiry of her term. She will no longer serve as a member of the Board Audit Committee, the Risk Management and Consumer Rights Protection Committee (including the U.S. Regional Institutions Risk Committee), or as Chair and member of the Connected Transactions Control Committee. Ms. Leung confirmed that she has no disagreements with the bank's board and that there are no matters requiring notification to shareholders or creditors regarding her departure.
