On October 23, Zhang Wenzhong, the founder of Wumart Group and DMALL, announced that Wumart will implement six major reforms aimed at deeply restructuring its products, supply chain, operations, and customer experience. As of October, Wumart has adjusted 33 stores by "learning from P.Donglai," with expectations to exceed 100 adjustments by year-end. Additionally, since launching its first six "Wumart Super Value" hard discount stores in Beijing on July 25, the total will reach 10 by the end of October. Wumart representatives explained that the core of the hard discount model is to achieve a balance between price and quality through high efficiency and precise product selection. Wumart is optimizing operations by eliminating unnecessary steps and streamlining SKUs, with over a 90% reduction in SKU numbers compared to traditional supermarkets. Wumart's hard discount stores will also extend to regions outside of Beijing.
