Uranium Energy Corp's stock plummeted 6.78% during intraday trading on Tuesday, as investors reacted negatively to the company's latest financial results.
The sharp decline followed the release of Uranium Energy's fiscal third-quarter earnings, which revealed a net loss of $0.11 per share, significantly wider than the $0.07 per share loss reported a year earlier and missing analysts' expectations of a $0.03 per share loss. The company's net loss expanded to $52.34 million from $30.21 million in the year-ago quarter, while operating loss also widened to $40.79 million from $23.46 million.
Despite reporting no revenue in either period as it maintained its uranium inventory, the disappointing bottom-line results and the miss versus analyst estimates drove negative sentiment among investors, leading to the substantial sell-off during the trading session.
