此次应用入侵似乎是一系列协同网络作战中的一环。伊朗官方媒体报道称，包括国家通讯社IRNA在内的多家新闻网站遭劫持，展示了关于周六袭击事件的文章以质疑政权公信力。IRNA首页的一条消息写道："这是阿亚图拉政权安全部队的恐怖时刻；伊斯兰革命卫队和巴斯基民兵遭受重创。"
