AV Promotions swings to HK$5.57 million loss as FY2025 revenue falls 14%

AV Promotions (AV PROMOTIONS HOLDINGS LIMITED) reported a loss attributable to shareholders of HK$5.57 million for the year ended 31 December 2025, reversing the HK$1.76 million profit recorded a year earlier.

Revenue dropped 14.30% year-on-year to HK$107.94 million, reflecting a 28.9% decline in the number of events handled to 553. Gross profit fell 17.51% to HK$24.85 million, and the gross margin slipped to 23.1% from 24.0%.

By geography, Hong Kong contributed HK$66.07 million (61.2% of total revenue), the PRC HK$41.80 million (38.7%) and Macau HK$0.07 million (0.1%). Exhibitions remained the largest event category, generating HK$40.96 million or 37.9% of revenue.

Cost of services declined 13.11% to HK$83.09 million, driven mainly by lower short-term equipment rental and right-of-use depreciation expenses. Administrative costs were trimmed 4.15% to HK$18.09 million, while selling expenses fell 13.97% to HK$6.45 million. Net finance expenses decreased 38.55% to HK$3.38 million.

The balance sheet shows net current liabilities of HK$18.66 million (2024: HK$13.74 million) and a gearing ratio of 115.9% (2024: 112.9%). Cash and cash equivalents stood at HK$6.31 million, with pledged time deposits of HK$31.00 million. Total borrowings amounted to HK$58.91 million, of which HK$41.26 million are current.

Auditors highlighted a material uncertainty related to going concern, noting the net loss and negative working capital position; management is pursuing cost controls, project expansion and additional financing to bolster liquidity.

The board recommended no final dividend for FY2025, in line with the prior year.
