It was co-organized by Hohhot Ethnic Affairs Committee and Hohhot Huimin District Ethnic Affairs Committee. The event aimed to systematically promote the transition of ethnic handicrafts from traditional preservation to modern industry through policy guidance, brand cultivation, industrial integration, and cultural exhibition, injecting new momentum for strengthening the sense of community of the Chinese nation, promoting exchanges and integration among ethnic groups, and advancing rural revitalization and high-quality economic development.
The conference specially invited Li Yuanyuan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee of the China Arts and Crafts Society, to deliver a keynote speech. She presented on the theme "Seeing the Beauty of China - Handicraft Skills and Chinese Civilization Symbols," profoundly explaining the important role of handicraft skills in carrying Chinese cultural genes and connecting ethnic emotions, while sharing cutting-edge concepts and practical cases.
Ethnic handicrafts are not only an important component of excellent traditional Chinese culture, but also a powerful vehicle for promoting exchanges and integration among ethnic groups and strengthening the sense of community of the Chinese nation. During the conference, experts, scholars, and industry representatives engaged in in-depth discussions around two major topics: "Cultural Practice of Strengthening the Sense of Community of the Chinese Nation and Innovation in Ethnic Handicrafts" and "Exploration of Coordinated Development Paths between Ethnic Handicraft Industrialization and Rural Revitalization," offering suggestions for the creative transformation and innovative development of ethnic handicrafts.
The conference venue also featured an "Integration and Innovation Space" exhibition area for ethnic handicrafts, showcasing exquisite handicraft masterpieces from various leagues and cities across the region. That evening, a special ethnic costume brand launch event was held, where local brands and emerging designers presented fashion shows that combined traditional elements with modern aesthetics, demonstrating the cultural charm of the northern frontier.
During the conference, participating guests visited the Busigui Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base, Mengliang Ethnic Folk Garden, and other locations for field research, gaining in-depth understanding of the vivid practices of ethnic handicrafts in empowering industries, driving employment, and promoting rural revitalization.
