Data indicates that during the first half of this year, China has accelerated the pace of transitioning from old to new growth drivers. A group of new industries, characterized by high technological content and strong resilience, has provided robust support. In the first half of the year, the value-added of high-tech manufacturing above a designated scale and digital product manufacturing grew by 13.3% and 12.3%, respectively, accelerating from the first quarter.

Particularly, the global revolution in artificial intelligence technology has triggered a surge in demand for high-end computing power chips and memory chips. In the first half of the year, the integrated circuit output of China's industrial enterprises above a designated scale increased by 23.1%, reaching a total production volume of 279.8 billion units.

An official from the National Bureau of Statistics commented: "This figure is exceptionally large. Converted, it means an average daily production of over 1.5 billion integrated circuits. Integrated circuits are what we commonly refer to as chips, which are extensively used in intelligent equipment and electronic products."

Beyond integrated circuits, the output of intelligent products such as 5G smartphones, 3D printing equipment, and service robots has also maintained rapid growth. The daily average token calls have reached hundreds of trillions, marking a leap in scale.

Preliminary estimates show that in the first half of the year, new growth drivers represented by high-tech manufacturing and digital product manufacturing, which account for just over 20% of the value-added, contributed nearly 50% of the industrial growth, making them a crucial engine driving industrial expansion.
