Kingboard Holdings' stock soared 5.85% at market open on Tuesday, driven by a confluence of positive catalysts within the printed circuit board (PCB) sector.

The movement follows reports of significant supply chain disruptions for a key PCB material. A critical industrial zone in Saudi Arabia, which supplied approximately 70% of the world's PPE resin, has been offline since late March due to shipping issues. This resin is essential for manufacturing high-end PCBs, leading to industry-wide price pressures. Goldman Sachs reported PCB prices rose up to 40% in April alone.

Specifically for Kingboard, its subsidiary Kingboard Laminates has implemented its fourth product price increase this year, raising board material prices by 10% and PP product prices by 20%. Furthermore, Citigroup raised its target price for Kingboard Holdings and lifted earnings forecasts through 2028 by 34% to 53%, citing stronger-than-expected electronic fiberglass cloth price inflation. The bank also noted that by 2028, around 85% of Kingboard's core net profit is expected to come from its laminate/PCB business. Sector-wide strength is also fueled by reports that PCB costs for NVIDIA's next-generation VR200 have surged over 233% compared to the previous GB300 model.
