On July 8, 2026, the 14th "7.8 National Insurance Public Awareness Day" arrived. Centered on the annual theme of "Striving Forward in the '15th Five-Year Plan', Insurance Empowers Confidence," the Tianjin Insurance Association (referred to as "the Association") collaborated with 14 insurance institutions including Ping An Life Insurance Tianjin Branch, Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance Tianjin Branch, Taiping General Insurance Tianjin Branch, China Pacific Life Insurance Tianjin Branch, New China Life Insurance Tianjin Branch, Sunshine Property & Casualty Insurance Tianjin Branch, Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance (China), AXA Tianping P&C Insurance Tianjin Branch, Zking Insurance Tianjin Branch, Guohua Life Insurance Tianjin Branch, Taikang Pension Tianjin Branch, Ping An Health Insurance Tianjin Branch, Bohai Life Insurance Tianjin Branch, and Love Life Insurance Tianjin Branch. Together with the Tianjin Railway Transport Court, they organized a "Doing Practical Things for the People" insurance public welfare donation event in the Kaifengli Community of Xiaobailou Subdistrict, Heping District. The initiative aimed to deliver industry care and risk protection services directly to the elderly population, fulfilling the mission of pension finance through concrete actions.
The Association proactively engaged with Xiaobailou Subdistrict to gain a deep understanding of the actual needs of the community's elderly residents. It coordinated and organized the 14 institutions to jointly fund the purchase of practical senior-friendly supplies, including electronic blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, assisted dining utensils, and categorized pill boxes, with a total value of 51,400 yuan. These items were designated to support the healthy living of the community's elderly group.
During the donation ceremony, Xiaobailou Subdistrict presented letters of appreciation to the Association and the 14 institutions, commending the effort for "understanding public sentiment and warming people's hearts, demonstrating the responsibility and commitment of Tianjin's insurance industry in serving the grassroots and safeguarding the elderly."
Delivering Warmth and Education
While supplies conveyed warmth, education focused on safety. At the event, the Association specially invited Jiang Lei, Deputy Chief Judge of the Case Filing Division of the Tianjin Railway Transport Court, to deliver an engaging thematic lecture on combating telecom fraud for the elderly community residents. Judge Jiang Lei used typical cases such as pension investment scams, impersonation of public security and judicial officials, and health product marketing schemes to explain legal principles in a clear and accessible manner. This helped the elderly friends improve their ability to identify scams and enhance their awareness of prevention, effectively safeguarding their "retirement savings." This collaboration represents an innovative practice by Tianjin's insurance industry and judicial organs to deepen cooperation and jointly build a "rule of law + finance" education mechanism, achieving an organic integration of legal credibility and insurance risk education, which was highly praised by the elderly residents present.
Simultaneously, several insurance institutions set up promotional booths in the community square, distributing insurance knowledge brochures and risk alert leaflets to residents. They provided "one-on-one"答疑 (Q&A) and personalized advice on issues of public concern such as pension security planning, health insurance configuration, and claims services. This effort promoted the deep integration of insurance knowledge普及 (popularization) with community services, striving to bridge the "last mile" in financial education and publicity.
