A key livelihood initiative in Tacheng Prefecture is entering its decisive phase, with contractors working at full capacity to complete the interior fit-out of the Wusu City Comprehensive Elderly Care Service Center. The project, which is now 80% complete, is scheduled to finish all decoration work and be handed over by the end of October, establishing a robust physical foundation for the region's aged care sector.
Inspections on September 17 at the construction site, located on the east side of Yilihe Road and the south side of Aksuhe Road, confirmed that crews are accelerating tasks such as decorative finishes and equipment installation while strictly adhering to safety and quality protocols. The current focus is on the intensive phase of the interior fit-out.
Yang Yongjie, an aerial work platform operator with Xinjiang Xingyu Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., detailed the ongoing work: "We are using the aerial platform to install glazed tiles, following precise angle requirements and construction standards. Each tile is fixed and aligned sequentially to prevent falls from height. By ensuring our own safety, we are steadily advancing the installation schedule to support the project's timely delivery."
The Comprehensive Elderly Care Service Center represents a cornerstone investment in Wusu City's efforts to enhance public aged care capabilities. With a total investment of 50 million yuan, the facility spans 10,336 square meters and will provide 200 professional nursing beds. Since breaking ground, the construction unit has enforced rigorous safety and quality controls, optimized workflows, and efficiently allocated labor and materials to accelerate progress without compromising standards.
Currently, more than 80 workers, including electricians and bricklayers, are on site, systematically undertaking tasks such as floor tiling, plumbing and electrical installation, and facade finishing. Zhu Kebao, the construction team leader, emphasized the operational strategy: "We have arranged reasonable shifts to maximize productivity. Our priority remains safety and quality, but we are also pushing the pace on decoration and utility installation to guarantee the project is ready for handover on schedule."
Departing from conventional elderly care facilities, the Wusu project integrates a comprehensive, smart service model. It is thoughtfully designed with three primary functional zones: living quarters, professional care units, and medical rehabilitation areas. These are supplemented by amenities including a senior dining hall, assisted dining and bathing stations, a daytime care center, and psychological support services. Furthermore, an intelligent elderly care management system will be deployed, creating an all-encompassing complex that unites daily living support, medical recovery, cultural and recreational activities, long-term care, and emotional companionship into a single, modernized service hub.
Project manager He Chuanjiang outlined the final push: "Our team is strictly adhering to the construction timeline. We are breaking down tasks, refining work sequences, and maintaining tight control over safety, quality, and scheduling. By working backwards from the deadline, we are fully committed to ensuring the project is delivered on time and becomes operational promptly."
Once operational, the center will significantly bolster Wusu City's elderly care service supply by integrating diverse offerings such as daily assistance, medical rehabilitation, recreational socialization, and long-term care. It is poised to further strengthen the city's tripartite "home + community + institution" aged care network, contributing to the high-quality development of Wusu's public welfare programs.
