The hydrogen energy industrial park in Rugao Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Province, showcases China's push into future industries. Meanwhile, visitors explore superconducting quantum computers at the 2025 Quantum Technology and Industry Conference in Hefei, Anhui. In Chongqing, Qiteng Robotics demonstrates explosive-proof quadruped robots—all emblematic of China's "three new" economic drivers (new industries, business forms, and models), which now contribute over 18% of GDP.

China's 15th Five-Year Plan highlights six strategic future industries: quantum technology, biomanufacturing, hydrogen/nuclear fusion energy, brain-computer interfaces, embodied AI, and 6G communications. These sectors, transitioning from lab to market, aim to solidify China's technological leadership.

Hydrogen energy impresses with silent, zero-emission buses, while embodied AI brings sci-fi robotics to life, as seen at Ningbo’s Smart City Expo. Quantum computing accelerates drug discovery—Beijing Boson Quantum’s 1,000-qubit computer reduces screening from months to milliseconds. 6G development has stockpiled 300+ key technologies, targeting commercial deployment by 2030.

Nuclear fusion advances rapidly: EAST reactor sustained 100-million-degree plasma for 1,066 seconds, while BEST compact fusion device aims for first electricity by 2030. China leads in quantum computing (with "Origin Wukong"), brain-computer interfaces, and biomanufacturing, supported by rising R&D investment (ranked second globally).

Regional hubs like Hefei’s quantum network and Wuxi’s brain-computer innovation center exemplify localized strategies. Policies now prioritize scenario-based validation—humanoid robots like NAVIAI already handle factory and household tasks, refining skills via VR training.

Projections suggest biomanufacturing platforms will exceed 20 by 2027, with brain-computer interfaces hitting $55 billion and embodied AI $400 billion by 2030. As China bridges innovation and commercialization, these industries are poised to redefine global tech and green transitions.
