Following the mudslide disaster in Gyirong County, Shigatse, Xizang, damaged roads, power outages, and severed communications have crippled the affected area. In response, the Ministry of Emergency Management, along with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, has deployed three Wing Loong drones to the region for continuous emergency communication support and disaster assessment missions.

As of 12:00 PM on August 31, the Wing Loong drones have accumulated over 130 flight hours and facilitated more than 3,900 communication calls. During operations, the flight crews have overcome severe challenges, including high-altitude low temperatures, canyon turbulence, and unpredictable weather, by employing tactical strategies such as "remote takeoff and landing," "long-range large-area transit," and "dual-aircraft coordinated operations in the same airspace."

These efforts have enabled rapid positioning and multi-drone collaboration, establishing a vital communication "lifeline" for the disaster-stricken area. Additionally, the drones have been conducting continuous disaster assessments, providing essential data to support risk evaluation and command decision-making.
