COSCO SHIPPING International (Singapore) Co., Ltd. announced that its 49% joint venture, Goldlead Supply Chain Development (Southeast Asia) Pte. Ltd., has entered into a non-binding letter of intent with Guangdong M-Link Logistics Supply Chain Co., Ltd. and Pushuntou (Guangdong) Management Consulting Co., Ltd. to explore the development of a green smart supply chain delivery center in Thailand.
The proposed center aims to integrate production materials supply, production support services, finished-goods storage, container yard operations, distribution, after-sales parts management and reusable container services for Thailand’s domestic and export markets.
Planned features include sustainable construction materials such as photovoltaic roofs, energy-storage and rain-harvesting systems, as well as new-energy vehicles and recyclable packaging. Smart systems—covering warehouse, transport and order management—along with IoT sensors are expected to provide real-time chain visibility and automated logistics operations.
Under the proposed collaboration, Goldlead would contribute global shipping and resource-integration expertise; Midea ISCC would serve as an anchor customer with an estimated warehouse rental demand of 120,000–150,000 square metres; and PGM would provide land and facilities suitable for industrial processing and logistics.
The letter of intent is non-binding, and the parties have yet to enter into definitive agreements. The company said it will make further announcements when material developments occur and advised shareholders to exercise caution as there is no certainty the collaboration will proceed.
