RUSAL (00486) has reported its interim results for the six months ended June 30, 2026, with revenue reaching $8.338 billion, up 10.88% year-over-year. The company recorded a profit attributable to shareholders of $419 million, a sharp turnaround from the $87 million loss posted in the same period last year. Basic and diluted earnings per share stood at $0.0276.

According to the announcement, revenue from sales of primary aluminium and alloys increased by $671 million, or 11.2%, to $6.637 billion during the reporting period, compared with $5.966 billion in the same period of 2025. This growth was primarily driven by a 23.6% rise in the weighted average realised aluminium price per tonne, which climbed from $2,610 per tonne in the prior-year period to $3,227 per tonne for the six months ended June 30, 2026.

The increase in realised prices was underpinned by a 33.4% surge in aluminium prices quoted on the London Metal Exchange, rising from an average of $2,538 per tonne in the first half of 2025 to $3,386 per tonne in the latest reporting period. However, this positive price momentum was partially offset by a 10.0% decline in sales volumes of primary aluminium and alloys.
