From January to June this year, the total import and export value of agricultural products in Datong City, Shanxi Province, surpassed 250 million yuan, marking a qualitative and quantitative leap in foreign trade development. Behind this impressive achievement lies sustained, coordinated efforts across multiple city departments to precisely address bottlenecks in agricultural product exports.
Datong Customs has implemented an "embedded" full-cycle service model and a "smart" full-chain supervision system, collaborating with agricultural and market regulatory authorities. This joint effort involves a "four-in-one" approach: combined surveys, training, guidance, and problem-solving, with over 20 enterprise visits conducted in the first half of the year. Foreign visitors have repeatedly praised the quality of Datong's agricultural products.
The Datong Municipal Commerce Bureau concurrently adopted a "one enterprise, one policy" strategy. In Tianzhen County, it established a "cross-border e-commerce plus small grain industry belt" park, aggregating nine agricultural e-commerce enterprises to create a digital channel for county-level agricultural products to go overseas. Additionally, customs authorities liaised with 10 export-oriented enterprises in Hunyuan County, provided "one-on-one" filing guidance for chili sauce exports from Lingqiu County to Mongolia, and assisted leading enterprises like Tianzhen Bocheng Vegetable in obtaining AEO certification. By implementing a "cloud issuance" system and a closed-loop management model for rapid inspection and clearance, they have effectively improved customs efficiency, helping enterprises seize the window period for overseas orders.
As support measures continue to take effect, exports of deep-processed food have become the core growth engine. In the first half of the year, Datong's tomato paste can exports surged by 476.2% year-on-year, while buckwheat mixed flour exports grew by 47%. Dried vegetables from Tianzhen County appeared at multiple international exhibitions, securing million-dollar orders. Small grains, daylily deep-processed products, astragalus series products, and other specialty items under the "Datong Good Grain" brand are accelerating their journey overseas. New agricultural products, such as mealworm protein powder, achieved the nation's first export shipment.
Simultaneously, the international market map for Datong's agricultural and food products continues to expand. Tomato paste cans have successfully entered markets in Russia, Mali, Moldova, and Gambia, while tomato sauce achieved its first-ever export to South Korea. Local enterprises have participated in international exhibitions like the SIAL Food Fair in Paris and the Global Traditional Food and Nutrition Products Expo, reaching multiple cooperation intentions on-site. This has steadily enhanced the international recognition of the "Datong Good Grain" regional public brand.
