Hong Kong Stocks Midday Review | Hang Seng Index Rises 0.29% in Morning Session, CRO Concept Stocks Advance

The Hang Seng Index gained 0.29%, up 75 points to 26,463 points, while the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 1.11%. Hong Kong stocks recorded HK$162 billion in turnover during the morning session.

CRO concept stocks advanced in the morning session, with Pharmaron (03759) surging over 8% as clinical trial approval processes for innovative drugs continue to accelerate. Pharmaron (03759) gained 7.95%; Joinn Laboratories (06127) rose 7%; WuXi Biologics (02269) climbed 5.5%; and Asymchem Laboratories (06821) increased 4.2%.

TRANSTHERA-B (02617) surged over 33% again, as the company was included in the Stock Connect eligible list, effective from September 8th.

The lithium battery sector led gains, with Morgan Stanley issuing a positive research report on CATL, as institutions noted market attention on lithium battery demand expectations for next year. China Innovation Aviation Technology (03931) rose 4%; CATL (03750) gained 7%; and Ganfeng Lithium (01772) increased 4%.

YUNFENG FIN (00376) surged over 19% again, doubling its share price within the month, after Yunfeng Securities recently received approval to provide virtual asset trading services.

Repulse Energy (00666) rose nearly 2% again, as several leading battery cell manufacturers continue operating at full capacity, with the company's energy storage battery shipments showing strong growth.

Shuyi Burning Fairy Grass (02589) gained over 8% after being recently included in the Stock Connect list, with steady growth in store count during the first half of the year.

BRAINAURORA-B (06681) once surged 83% to hit a new high, closing the morning session up 36%, with cumulative gains of over 130% since joining Stock Connect. Starting September 8th, BRAINAURORA-B was officially included in the Stock Connect eligible list. The company is reportedly China's first to develop medical-grade digital therapeutic products for cognitive disorders.

Biocytogen-B (02315) rose over 11% after signing an antibody option evaluation agreement with Merck to advance antibody-drug conjugate lipid delivery solutions.

Property stocks declined collectively, with Shimao Group (00813) falling nearly 5% and China Liangs Holdings (02772) dropping over 3%.
