英国海上贸易行动中心周日表示，整个阿拉伯湾、霍尔木兹海峡及阿曼湾的区域航运威胁级别已提升至最高的“危急”水平。该中心补充称，近期发生的袭击事件针对多种船型和不同船旗国的船只。
据隶属于英国皇家海军的英国海上贸易行动中心报告，自2月28日与伊朗的冲突爆发以来，已发生超过20起涉及商用船舶和近海基础设施的事件。该机构指出，这些袭击并未表现出与西方船东存在固定关联，这表明其行动意图在于造成广泛的海上交通中断，而非进行选择性打击。
在最新一起事件中，一艘停泊在阿联酋海岸约12海里处的散货船报告称听到爆炸声，随后在距其1300多米外观察到火情。英国海上贸易行动中心将该事件定性为可疑活动。
同日早些时候，该中心曾通报在阿联酋沙迦以北15海里处发生未知抛射物引发的爆炸。所有船员均确认安全。
