HUA MEDICINE-B (ASX: 02552) shares surged more than 8% in trading. At the time of writing, the stock was up 8.04% to HK$2.15, with a turnover of HK$3.45 million.

This movement follows the company's recent presentation of significant research findings for its first-in-class glucose kinase activator (GKA), dorzagliatin, at the 86th American Diabetes Association (ADA) Scientific Sessions. The data showcased results across combination therapy synergy, extensive real-world evidence, and AI-powered precision diagnostic tools, reinforcing the company's leading position in the field of glucose homeostasis research.

The presented outcomes provide further validation of dorzagliatin's mechanistic advantage in restoring glucose homeostasis at its source. They also highlight its broad potential in treating complex metabolic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), obesity, and MODY2. This continues to solidify the company's global leadership in glucose homeostasis studies.

Furthermore, centered on the core mechanism of glucose kinase (GK), Hua Medicine is deeply integrating artificial intelligence (AI), large language models (LLM), and clinical big data to develop a suite of AI tools. These tools cover efficacy prediction, diabetes remission forecasting, monogenic diabetes subtyping, and intelligent medical education.

Among these, GK Charger is a medical education platform built on a large language model, capable of transforming complex scientific knowledge into evidence-based content suitable for clinical use and patient education. An efficacy prediction model, constructed using clinical trial data from dorzagliatin, can forecast a patient's HbA1c response rate and likelihood of diabetes remission following treatment with the drug. Additionally, the GK Mutation AI Analysis System, leveraging a database of nearly a thousand GK mutations, can complete genetic diagnosis for MODY2 and predict drug response within seconds, achieving an accuracy rate of 90%.
