Prudential plc cancels 527,219 shares following latest buyback

Prudential plc announced on May, 22 2026 that it has cancelled 527,219 ordinary shares repurchased on May, 19 2026 and cancelled on May, 21 2026, trimming its outstanding share capital to 2,522,407,154 shares.

The cancelled stock represented 0.020897% of Prudential’s issued share base prior to the transaction.

A further 503,083 shares—acquired on May, 20 2026 (251,922 shares) and May, 21 2026 (251,161 shares)—remain outstanding pending cancellation.

On May, 21 2026 the group bought back 251,161 shares on the London Stock Exchange at between GBP 11.30 and GBP 11.50 each, for a total consideration of approximately 2.87 million pounds, or about 4.9 million Singapore dollars.

The repurchases form part of the mandate approved by shareholders on May, 14 2025, which authorises the company to buy back up to 262.67 million shares. To date, 90.27 million shares—equivalent to 3.47% of the share count at mandate approval—have been repurchased. A 30-day moratorium on new share issues or treasury-share disposals is in effect until Jun, 20 2026.
