Lu Weibing, Partner and President of Xiaomi Group (01810), stated during an earnings call on March 24 that Xiaomi's large AI model has achieved rapid development, with progress far exceeding expectations. He noted that it is almost impossible to find another company globally that can simultaneously deploy physical AI across multiple spaces involving people, cars, and homes, highlighting this as a unique opportunity for Xiaomi. Lu emphasized that the competition in large AI models has entered its second half, and the first to advance into the Agent era and achieve real-world implementation will gain a leading advantage. The recently released second-generation MiMo large model has preliminarily completed a full series of model layouts for the Agent era. On global large model intelligence index rankings and usage volume charts, Xiaomi MiMo-V2-Pro has entered the top tier of domestic large models, earning high recognition from global developers, including the founder of Openclaw. Lu further pointed out that the deep integration of AI with the physical world is the next frontier for intelligent technology. Xiaomi is accelerating its transformation into an AI-empowered "full ecosystem for people, cars, and homes" company. Leveraging its self-developed large model capabilities and a hardware ecosystem of over 10 billion devices, Xiaomi will actively promote the transition of AI from screens to the real physical world. Lu reiterated that Xiaomi aims to seize technological transformation opportunities through long-term, sustained investment in underlying core technologies. This year, Xiaomi's research, development, and capital expenditure in the AI field are expected to exceed 16 billion yuan, with planned investments reaching 60 billion yuan over the next three years. These investments will focus on large models, embodied intelligence, and AI applications, as the company firmly advances its various strategies and anticipates tangible results.
