Ganfeng Lithium Swings to RMB4.26 Billion H1 Profit on Revenue Surge; Subsidiary Commits USD180 Million to Lithium Argentina Debenture

Ganfeng Lithium Group Co., Ltd. (Ganfeng Lithium) reported a sharp turnaround for the six months ended 30 June 2026, powered by higher lithium prices and rising battery shipments.

Revenue rose 177.1 % year-on-year to RMB22.88 billion, while gross profit jumped 701.5 % to RMB7.14 billion. Profit attributable to shareholders reached RMB4.26 billion versus a RMB0.54 billion loss a year earlier, delivering basic earnings per share of RMB2.04.

Segment performance showed lithium metal & compounds contributing RMB14.09 billion, or 61.6 % of group revenue. Lithium battery sales generated RMB7.79 billion (34.0 %), and resource & other products added RMB1.00 billion (4.4 %). Mainland China remained the dominant market, accounting for 96.3 % of total sales.

Operating cash flow improved to RMB1.33 billion from RMB0.30 billion, while capital expenditure reached RMB2.44 billion. Cash and cash equivalents stood at RMB10.96 billion, against total interest-bearing debt of RMB35.53 billion, leaving the gearing ratio at 55 %.

Post-period, on 24 August 2026 Ganfeng’s wholly-owned subsidiary GFL International agreed to purchase a USD180 million six-year unsecured convertible debenture issued by Lithium Argentina AG. The instrument can lift GFL International’s stake in Lithium Argentina from 9.7 % to roughly 16.1 % on full conversion.

The board declared no interim dividend.
