Recently, some Android users reported receiving notifications that their photos and videos were being abnormally deleted while using the Meituan app.

On March 24, Meituan's official customer service responded, stating: "The issue was primarily caused by a conflict with a third-party SDK encountered during the app's automatic cache cleanup process on Android systems in very rare instances. Since the problem occurred, a cumulative total of over 180 users have contacted customer service for inquiries, with the estimated potential scope of affected users being around several hundred. We performed an emergency fix immediately after discovering the issue."

Meituan's customer service clarified that the problem only occurred at the local device system level and that the Meituan app does not read, store, or transfer any user personal data. User privacy and account information remained unaffected.

It was understood that after identifying the problem, Meituan quickly formed a dedicated technical support team and collaborated with professional security experts to assist affected users in recovering their data. Meituan's customer service noted that the company has apologized to each affected user and will bear all related expenses and compensate for any corresponding losses.
