Xero Ltd (XRO.AU) shares plummeted 5.00% during Monday's intraday trading session, marking a significant decline for the cloud accounting software provider.
The sharp drop followed news that CEO Sukhinder Singh Cassidy sold all of her ordinary shares in the company for approximately AU$2.2 million to manage personal tax obligations. According to a filing with the Australian bourse, Cassidy sold 29,608 shares at AU$74 each but retained restricted stock units and unlisted options.
Broader market conditions also contributed to the decline, with technology stocks facing pressure due to rising Middle East tensions that dampened risk sentiment across Asian markets. The Australian technology sector fell to its lowest level in over a week during the session.
