SINOPEC CORP's Controlling Shareholder Increases Stake by Approximately 484 Million Shares

SINOPEC CORP (00386) announced the results of share acquisitions by its controlling shareholder China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) and its concert parties. As of the date of this announcement, Sinopec Group and its wholly-owned subsidiaries have collectively purchased approximately 484 million shares of the company, representing about 0.40% of the total issued share capital. The total acquisition amount reached approximately RMB 2.073 billion (excluding taxes and fees).

Specifically, Sinopec Group acquired approximately 122 million A-shares through the Shanghai Stock Exchange's centralized bidding system, accounting for about 0.10% of the total issued share capital, with a total purchase amount of approximately RMB 705 million (excluding taxes and fees). Shengjun Company purchased approximately 362 million H-shares through the Hong Kong Stock Exchange system, representing about 0.30% of the total issued share capital, with a total acquisition value of HKD 1.488 billion (excluding taxes and fees).

Following the completion of this share increase, Sinopec Group directly and indirectly holds 84,588,774,653 shares of the company (including 83,183,932,653 A-shares and 1,404,842,000 H-shares), constituting approximately 69.95% of the total issued share capital.
