JIN MI FANG GP (08300) has formed a non-wholly owned subsidiary, Jin Mi Fang Catering (Hong Kong) Limited (“JMF Catering HK”), as part of a strategic plan to re-establish its presence in Hong Kong’s food-service sector. The new entity is 51% held by the Group and 49% by Mr. Lam Hoi Ki, an independent third party with extensive hotpot restaurant experience in Hong Kong.

The Group exited its local restaurant operations in late October 2024, citing pandemic-driven market uncertainty. Since then, management has reassessed capital allocation, diversified into wine supply and mainland China food distribution, and maintained a cautious stance toward relaunching Hong Kong catering activities.

Hotpot remains one of Hong Kong’s most resilient dining formats. Leveraging Mr. Lam’s operational know-how and business network, JMF Catering HK aims to open a new hotpot restaurant in Kowloon. Preparatory work is in progress, with operations expected to commence around the second quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.

The Board views this initiative as a strategic move to broaden revenue streams, enhance operating efficiency, and improve overall financial performance while capitalising on the Group’s historical expertise in catering.
