China Starch Holdings Limited disclosed a next-day return confirming the on-market repurchase of 5.00 million ordinary shares on 23 October 2026. The shares were bought at prices ranging from HKD 0.167 to HKD 0.168 apiece, translating into a volume-weighted average cost of HKD 0.1675 per share and an aggregate consideration of HKD 0.84 million.
Following the transaction, the company’s outstanding share count (excluding treasury shares) decreased by 0.09 % to 5.64 billion, while treasury shares increased to 172.75 million. Total issued share capital remained unchanged at 5.81 billion shares because the repurchased stock is being held in treasury rather than cancelled.
The buyback was executed under the mandate approved on 12 May 2026, which permits repurchases of up to 596.45 million shares. Cumulative purchases under this mandate have reached 302.85 million shares, equivalent to 5.08 % of the shares outstanding on the mandate date. In line with Hong Kong Stock Exchange rules, China Starch is restricted from issuing new shares or selling treasury shares until 22 November 2026.
