On September 24th, Weibo's "online status" feature sparked widespread discussion as it officially debuted. Personal users' avatars will now display their current active status with a green dot or "online" text indicator, while gray-blue colors represent offline status. This feature can be viewed directly on friends' profiles and private message interfaces. According to reports, the function is currently limited to personal users only, with media, corporate, and other institutional accounts not yet supporting social status display.
