The daily rhythm at Biaoguo Factory starts in the afternoon. At 4 PM on September 4th, the Chengdu Central Warehouse of Chengdu Biaoguo Technology Co., Ltd. (Biaoguo Factory), located in Pengzhou, begins to stir. The vegetable section awakens first as pre-purchased goods arrive from primary wholesale markets. IoT devices log temperature, humidity, and batch codes, while forklifts navigate under the guidance of digital systems.
The real surge begins at midnight. When the platform closes orders at exactly 12 AM, the packing area comes alive with the sound of tape guns. Smart sorting lines process over 6,000 items per hour, scanning terminals read traceability codes, and goods are automatically routed into cages and assigned to trucks. Drivers follow algorithm-optimized delivery routes, carrying fresh produce to destinations across the region.
At 1 AM, a box of dragon fruit is loaded onto a truck. Just hours earlier, it was still hanging in the orchards of Gexian Town, Pengzhou. Ten hours later, it will arrive at a fruit store in Pu'an Town, Jiange County, Guangyuan City, 230 kilometers away. The night before, the store owner had completed the purchase online via the Biaoguo Mall. Of the over 680,000 registered stores on the platform, 30,000 placed orders that day, with the Chengdu Central Warehouse fulfilling deliveries for 7,416 of them, totaling 58,000 items of fresh goods. Buyers are spread across 180 prefecture-level cities and 1,031 counties.
Regardless of order size, all 7,416 stores receive their goods within 18 hours of placing an order. Think of the central warehouse as the heart, the delivery routes as blood vessels, and the trucks as red blood cells, delivering the "oxygen"—fresh agricultural products—to every capillary of the urban-rural distribution network. Currently, Biaoguo's daily transaction volume consistently exceeds 17 million yuan, with over 2,700 tons of fresh produce delivered each day. Deliveries within a 300-kilometer radius arrive by early morning the next day, and a 450-kilometer radius guarantees "next-day delivery," with an on-time fulfillment rate of 99%.
How is such an intensive "circulation system" achieved? On September 4th, a reporter visited the Chengdu Central Warehouse to find out. Biaoguo Factory's smart sorting line can automatically process over 6,000 items per hour.
Compressing the distribution chain from 5 to 7 levels down to 3
"Digital-intelligent supply chain is our foundation," says Xing Fanwei, Vice President of Biaoguo Factory, getting straight to the point. "Think of us as a technology-driven agricultural product distribution platform, equipped with industry-specific large model capabilities and fortified by smart logistics as our moat."
Biaoguo's DNA carries the genes of Trucks Gang (Huochebang). Its founding team hails from this leading Chinese industrial internet unicorn, with deep roots in road logistics. They precisely identified the most acute pain point in agricultural distribution: a long and inefficient supply chain. "In the traditional model, agricultural products pass from farmers through agents and traders, then through three levels of wholesalers before reaching retail stores—a process that takes 3 to 7 days. Every transfer adds handling, increases losses, and layers on markup," Xing explains. Leveraging Biaoguo's data infrastructure and core application systems, the company has compressed this lengthy traditional chain into a three-tier digital-intelligent short chain: "Origin—Digital Warehouse—Store—Consumer."
What does "digital intelligence" look like in practice? Xing cites a couple of examples: "The delivery routes are the result of thousands of algorithm optimizations, and every agricultural product carries an electronic tag code for full-chain digital management." The numbers tell a clear story: a large Grade A Hainan贵妃 mango, traditionally shipped at 45 yuan by a primary wholesaler, would reach the end retailer at 60 yuan. Through Biaoguo's digital short chain, the store can purchase it for around 30 yuan.
Nationally, online retail sales of agricultural products reached 783.31 billion yuan in 2025, a 9.9% year-on-year increase. Yet beneath this prosperity lies a persistent problem. According to the China Chain Store & Franchise Association, the total loss rate across the vegetable supply chain is as high as 27.7%, and 13.2% for fruit. Sichuan's situation is also challenging: vegetable commercialization rate is only 42%, pre-cooling storage capacity is less than half of production, and distribution losses approach 15%.
Biaoguo is rewriting these industry benchmarks: fruit and vegetable turnover cycles have shrunk from 3-4 days to 18 hours, and loss rates have been cut from over 25% to under 5%.
From 3 hours to 3 minutes: algorithms deliver efficiency
Distribution efficiency is "calculated" by algorithms. Biaoguo paid a heavy tuition fee early on for manual route planning. In the startup phase, four route planners using traditional software would take from midnight, when orders closed, until 3:30 AM to complete all schedules. "Drivers would be called in by midnight, waiting hours with nothing to do; and by the time the plans were ready, it was difficult to dispatch drivers," Xing recalls. During that period, the company lost a staggering 20 million yuan per month on route planning alone.
Developing an in-house intelligent route planning system completely turned things around, slashing the time from 3 hours to 3 minutes. "We can now plan routes for the entire Sichuan province in 3 minutes," Xing says. The algorithm has boosted vehicle loading rates to over 95%, and logistics cost calculations are now precise to the third decimal place. Behind this intelligent system is the work of a 70-person R&D team over more than a year. Biaoguo now employs over 200 R&D personnel, with technology embedded across the entire business process—from route planning and smart sorting to dynamic weighing and the digital brain of agricultural distribution.
The digital brain's dashboard at the Chengdu Central Warehouse displays a constant stream of real-time data: daily transaction volumes, hot product category maps, national product flow, and the live locations of every delivery vehicle. Xing states that the accumulated real business data serves a dual purpose: it supports Biaoguo's own operational decisions, and it feeds back into the knowledge base, helping the government analyze and guide agricultural industrial structure adjustments across the province.
At the end of 2025, Sichuan issued policies to support high-quality development of the platform economy, incorporating the platform economy chain (with e-commerce as a key focus) into the province's "15+N" key industry chains. Earlier this year, Chengdu Biaoguo Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. was selected as a recommended "chain leader" enterprise for Chengdu's platform economy industry chain, and it also leads the construction of the provincial "Tianfu Fresh Express" (川鲜达) initiative.
Today, Biaoguo's business has expanded from fruit to include vegetables, frozen goods, and dairy products. First-tier brands such as Goodfarmer, Chu Orange, Yili, and Mengniu have all joined the platform. As of August 2026, Biaoguo covers 9 provinces and 2 municipalities directly under the central government, spanning 243 urban districts and 1,567 counties, serving over 340,000 stores.
From a startup to a national leading B2B fresh produce platform, Biaoguo's growth trajectory is a vivid example of Chengdu's "digital-physical integration" and "AI + agricultural distribution." Digital technology is also paving the way for automation—in April 2026, unmanned delivery vehicles were launched at the Chengdu Central Warehouse, further reducing manual delivery costs by 30%.
Setting standards for non-standard products
In the fruit industry, "non-standard" products pose a persistent challenge: the same variety can vary greatly in taste depending on origin or batch, and ultimately, "deliciousness" is subjective to the consumer. Biaoguo is using technology to tackle this problem, starting with standardizing the way products are described.
On the Biaoguo Mall, each product is accompanied by a video introduction. The seller's voice is replicated using voice cloning technology, and they are guided to describe the fruit's advantages, disadvantages, and market conditions in a three-part framework. This approach not only discourages one-sided, self-promotional descriptions but also brings fragmented information about taste, origin, and market trends into a unified analytical framework. Structured product narratives replace the vague "see the goods, set the price" approach of traditional markets, moving non-standard fruits closer to "quasi-standardized" distribution.
Biaoguo was also the first platform in the industry to clearly label "net weight and net unit price." Such innovations have attracted leading brands. For example, Zespri Gold Kiwifruit sold 330,000 units through Biaoguo within just six months of joining.
Behind this standardization are countless refined details. The slope of the smart sorting conveyor belt alone was adjusted seventy to eighty times. "If the slope is too steep, delicate fruits get damaged; if it's too gentle, lightweight items won't move smoothly," explains a staff member. The warehouse uses zoned temperature control, regulating each area's environment as needed, to minimize losses from the source. The Chengdu Central Warehouse has specific temperature requirements for different product categories.
Vegetables follow a three-wave, staggered delivery mechanism: the early morning batch serves farmers' market vendors; the morning batch supplies restaurants; and the afternoon batch caters to nighttime consumption venues like BBQ stalls. Vegetables and fruits have very different characteristics—markets open at 6 AM, so delivery rhythm must align precisely with consumer demand. These hands-on operational experiences are fed into Biaoguo's industry knowledge base, enriching model awareness and strengthening platform circulation.
Then there's the self-developed three-sided opening "wing" truck, which loads and unloads far more efficiently than traditional rear-door trucks. Standardized cage carts are designed to connect directly with sorting line chutes, allowing whole-cage loading and unloading to avoid losses from secondary handling. A spiral conveyor from the second floor to the first uses gravity for smooth product transfer, saving labor while protecting delicate fruits and vegetables. Hardware improvements and AI algorithms work in tandem, all pointing toward the same goals: faster circulation and lower losses.
Beyond efficiency, visible changes
In Pu'an Town, Guangyuan, a single mother runs a fruit store. Previously, she had to drive three or four times a week to stock up, each round trip taking two to three hours, plus another three hours of market browsing before heading home. "From the day her child started school, she never once had time to pick him up." After using Biaoguo, she places all her orders online throughout the year, reclaiming that time to spend with her child.
In the past, fruit stores in Weiyuan County would not dare to sell jackfruit due to its niche appeal, poor shelf life, and high procurement threshold. After Biaoguo's platform recommended jackfruit to a local store, over 180 fruit stores in Weiyuan now sell it.
Biaoguo's reshaping of agricultural distribution is not simply putting wholesale markets online. It is about reimagining the digital-intelligent path "from field to table"—with smart logistics as the foundation, algorithms for scheduling, full-chain data for decision-making, and a standardized system to build transaction trust.
