Citi Says Goertek and Sunny Optical Set to Gain from Meta VR Glasses

Citi has stated that among the VR glasses and other new products unveiled at the Meta Connect event, Goertek Inc. and SUNNY OPTICAL are the primary beneficiary manufacturers.

Analysts including Kyna Wong wrote in a research note that given the relatively high pricing, shipment volumes for the new Meta VR glasses are likely to be limited.

Goertek Inc. will continue to increase its share in Meta's AI glasses business, while the new VR glasses are expected to offset the impact of declining traditional VR headset business.

SUNNY OPTICAL will benefit from both AI glasses and the new VR glasses.

When Meta launches Ray-Ban Display 2 in early next year, SUNNY OPTICAL, Kangnaite Optical, and Omnivision will gain greater business increments.

Citi noted that at the 2026 Meta Connect event, Meta will release the third-generation Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses, Meta audio glasses, and Meta VR glasses, with products featuring the latest AI capabilities such as Muse.
