As a core aviation hub in northwest China and a national-level aerial gateway facing Central and West Asia, Xi'an Xianyang International Airport has continued to strengthen its hub radiation capacity and steadily increase its passenger attraction, leveraging an ever-improving route network, upgraded hardware facilities, and a mature support system.

During this year's National Day holiday, the airport once again welcomed a phased passenger flow peak, fully unleashing its hub traffic vitality. During the holiday period, the airport is expected to handle a total of 6,967 flight movements, transport more than 1.05 million passengers, and manage 6,040 tonnes of cargo and mail, continuously setting new records for the holiday transport capacity of a regional aviation hub in northwest China.

Relying on a three-dimensional route layout featuring "deep cultivation of domestic routes, connectivity along the Silk Road, and global reach," the airport's passenger structure has continued to optimize and its radiation scope has kept expanding. Domestic routes have been further densified on core trunk lines connecting Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, while the airport has also deepened its presence in the northwest regional market. Passenger traffic on routes to key northwest cities such as Urumqi has remained consistently high, fully demonstrating Xi'an's core advantage as a transit and distribution hub for northwest China's aviation network. International (regional) passenger traffic has steadily climbed, with popular destinations including Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, Tashkent, and Milan, deeply connecting countries along the Belt and Road Initiative and key Eurasian cities, continuously polishing the reputation as the "first aerial gateway of the Silk Road."

In terms of travel characteristics, group trips, family outings, and home-visiting demand were released in a concentrated manner during this holiday. Overall passenger flow showed a standardized and normalized operational pattern of "concentrated departures before the holiday, smooth operations during the holiday, and orderly returns after the holiday," with the hub's passenger throughput rhythm becoming more stable and orderly.

With the completion of Phase III expansion project and the full operation of Terminal 5, Xi'an Xianyang Airport's hub hardware capacity and operational carrying capacity have achieved leapfrog improvements, with an annual flight movement capacity of 600,000 sorties. The efficient hub infrastructure has laid a solid foundation for handling large passenger flows.

Combining the travel characteristics of National Day holiday passengers with the operational needs of large hub passenger flows, Xi'an Airport has comprehensively upgraded its service support system, creating a refined and warm "Rainbow" convenience service matrix. Airport inquiry staff wearing pink vests shuttle throughout major terminal passenger routes around the clock, proactively asking questions and providing forward-leaning service to efficiently resolve passenger travel inquiries and problems. Meanwhile, the airport has continued to deploy convenience facilities across all areas, with free lockers, on-site shuttle buses, shower rooms, and changing rooms fully covered, precisely addressing various passenger concerns during waiting, transit, and rest. In response to the mainstream demand for family travel, the airport has optimized and upgraded multiple mother-and-baby rooms, exclusive mother-and-baby waiting areas, and children's playground facilities, creating a friendly, warm, and comfortable family waiting environment, comprehensively enhancing the hub travel experience.

Facing multiple support pressures during the National Day holiday such as dense flights, surging passenger flows, and variable weather, Xi'an Airport has fully leveraged its advantages as a core smart aviation hub in northwest China. Relying on a dual support model of "AI intelligent assessment plus manual precise control," the airport monitors passenger flow and flight operations in real time and dynamically, pre-allocates and coordinates various operational resources including aircraft stands, security checkpoints, check-in counters, and ground services, optimizes the entire workflow chain, reduces passenger waiting times for security checks and check-in, and continuously improves overall hub operational efficiency and emergency response capabilities, ensuring safe, smooth, and efficient airport operations under large passenger flow scenarios.

To further strengthen hub distribution efficiency and adapt to group passenger travel needs, starting from September 28, Xi'an Airport officially launched the T3 tourist bus near-end boarding reservation service. Reserved groups can exclusively use nearby parking spaces at the integrated transportation hub, achieving indoor close-range waiting and convenient boarding, effectively shortening passenger transfer distances, breaking down barriers between aviation and ground transportation connectivity, improving the integrated air-ground comprehensive transportation hub function, and significantly enhancing group passenger travel convenience.

While ensuring transport capacity and upgrading services, the airport has also deeply cultivated Silk Road cultural dissemination, creating an immersive holiday waiting atmosphere. Flags are hung throughout the airport and themed landscapes are arranged, creating a strong National Day atmosphere. Meanwhile, Terminal 5 has grandly launched National Day-themed flash mob activities, with performances featuring strong Shaanxi characteristics and Chinese traditional style such as children's choir, Tang Dynasty classical dance, ribbon dragon acrobatics, and Qinqiang opera performed in rotation, deeply integrating thousand-year Silk Road culture with aviation hub services, enriching passenger waiting experiences, and making the northwest core aviation hub not only possess efficient circulation capacity but also highlight Shaanxi's image as a window of openness to the outside world.
