HINSANG GROUP (06893) saw its shares rise sharply once again, with a gain of over 36% at one point. This follows a significant surge in the stock yesterday, where intraday gains exceeded 200%. At the time of writing, the stock is up 21.05%, trading at HK$0.345 with a turnover of HK$6.6453 million.

The movement comes after the company announced on May 18 that Hong Kong celebrity Steven Ma Chun-wai will join as an Executive Director, Vice Chairman of the Board, and Co-Chief Executive Officer. These appointments are effective from May 20.

According to the announcement, the 54-year-old Ma brings extensive experience in corporate management, media, creative arts, and brand strategy. He joined Metro Broadcast Corporation Limited as Chief Operating Officer at the end of 2023, was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in June 2025, and held that position until his departure on May 19, 2026.

The disclosure notes that Ma's annual remuneration for the role is HK$2.52 million. In his new position, he will work alongside the other Co-CEO, Ms. Kwan Lai-man, to oversee the group's overall management and strategic planning.
